Talk The Talk at Goalkeepers 2018

The Chairman of Four Acre Trust and Talk The Talk, John Bothamley, is just back from New York where he enjoyed a private lunch with Bill and Melinda Gates, founders of Microsoft and themselves generous philanthropists.

In 2015, world leaders agreed to 17 Global Goals for Sustainable Development to achieve a better world by 2030. Goalkeepers, a catalyst for action towards these goals, and initiated by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation brought together leaders from around the world to accelerate progress towards ending poverty and fighting inequality.

An intense discussion about the future for children in Africa and other developing countries was shared with all three sharing a belief in the importance of sound education.

John said ‘this was a great opportunity for me to share my views with the Gates’ who, not surprisingly, are driven by data and are inspiring both charities and governments to strive to meet the Goals”.

Confident communication and literacy are seen as key steps in progressing towards achieving sustainability for developing countries and here in the UK, Talk The Talk, supported by Four Acre Trust, is doing its part by delivering dynamic training sessions in schools encouraging
young people to stand up and be heard.
